Creating A Cabin Home - Log By Log

(Our Vision To Build The Ultimate Off-Grid Log Cabin)

The Ultimate Log Cabin Build 2012

Way back in time, in high school we used to go out on field trips in a dilapidated Bus our school owned that we nicknamed ‘The Battle Bus!’ It still had the Army notices stencilled inside for example, ‘No loaded guns to be stored in this compartment.’ It did the job but what somewhat an embarrassment to the school and the unfortunate children who were travelling in it. At the time our school had no finances for a new bus, however, what we did have was a new head teacher who had great visions and ideas.

After much pondering on our predicament he came up with a fantastic idea to get the school a brand new bus….’Buy a bit of bus’

‘Buy a bit of bus’ was simple, an exploded diagram of a new bus was drawn up and each piece allotted an approximate cost. The drawing was distributed to the public and local businesses that could then purchase, via a donation, a part of the bus on the schools behalf. It could be a small part, large part or a whole chunk of parts…. End result? We got the new bus and our dream was realised.

As some of my readers may well know, this year is going to be a very exciting one for ‘HomeBrewPower’. We are, God willing, moving to pastures new and starting a new life and building our very own, low impact, self-sufficient, Off-Grid, Home. The only bottleneck I can see right now is financing such a move.

How to go about the new Off-Grid Log Cabin?

Well I am going to try and achieve the impossible; I am reaching out to all the individuals and companies who would like to be part of this adventure to help us. We want to create a fine example of Sustainable Living for others to learn from.

What will be in it for the Individuals and Companies who donate?

As the build goes on each and every donation will be listed on the Home Page under the relevant section with either a thanks for personal donations or a Website Link for Business donations. These links will show on each and every page of ‘HomeBrewPower’ and will be there for good. So free advertising for the life of our website that means a minimum of 300 permanent backlinks from our site to yours! (Links have to be related to the cause, no adult or off topic links accepted)
