Generate Electricity From The Swaying Of A Tree?
Here is a simple concept I have wanted to try out for many years.
1. Tie a rope to the trunk of a tree 2/3rds the way up.
2. Connect the end of the rope to a ratchet driven generator
(Permanent Magnet)
3. Wait for the wind to get up.
4. Create free power!
Simple idea to produce electricity and could be scaled up to
generate massive amounts of power from the swaying of trees in the
wind.
April 2010: I will be conducting some initial experiments throughout the year to see what power can be harnessed from a swaying tree. I imagine that the Spring & Autumn months of the year are going to be more favorable as the wind will be stronger and the trees will have leaves on them to ask as wind catchers!
